Description
A George II sterling silver tankard, Joseph Jackson, Dublin, 1749
Slightly flared body with a circular base and a wavy, chiseled decoration along the lower part. Domed, hinged lid with fluting and shell and beaded motifs. Elaborate, curved handle with a beaded ridge. Scroll-shaped finial with leaf detailing. Engraved crest on the side of the body, featuring a heraldic shield and motto.
Sterling Silver with 4 Hallmarks:
- The Maker’s Mark: Joseph Jackson
- Harpa with crown: City of Dublin
- Hibernia: Duty Mark
- The Date Letter: 1749

Condition
Slight signs of age and superficial scratches. The four hallmarks are present on the side of the body and on the lid.
