Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, first absolute edition of May 1998. The publishing house Salani released a children's book by an unknown debut author: Joanne Kathleen Rowling. Salani was one of the first publishers to translate and publish Harry Potter outside of England. The print run of the first Italian edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone consisted of 20,000 copies. A distinctive feature that makes the first edition highly sought after is that the dust jacket contained a printing error: Harry Potter is depicted without glasses. Furthermore, in the very first version, the author’s name is written in full and not abbreviated.
