Celebrated first illustrated edition with 230 marvelous engravings by Gustave Doré, an extraordinary illustrator regarded as one of the greatest and most prolific of the late 19th century. Contemporary half leather binding with hazelnut-colored corners and vibrant periwinkle boards. Smooth spine with double blue labels, title embossed in gold, and rich gilt decorations, with gold impressions on the boards.
